Bermondsey Welcomes Refugees (BWR) was set up in August 2019 and now has a team of 20+ volunteers working to support and relocate vulnerable refugee families into Southwark, London.

The refugee crisis is the highest since WW2 with large scale camps unable to cope with supporting the very basic needs of most refugees. Our aim is to support vulnerable families to resettle in the UK as part of the UK government Community Sponsorship Scheme.

 
BWR is required, through the scheme, to support each families resettlement to the UK and support them for up to two years after their arrival, helping them to build a new and sustainable life. The support covers all aspects of everyday life including housing, employment, language skills, education, healthcare and much more. 

We raised an amazing £12,000 to successfully resettle our first refugee family in 2020 but we now need to raise a further £12,000 to help support a second family.  Any donations will be greatly received to help such a worthy humanitarian cause.
