Story

On 23rd December 2009, Benjamin slipped on ice and suffered a life altering spinal injury which left him as a paraplegic. After the initial accident Ben spent over a year at Stoke Mandeville.  Subsequently due to complications he was admitted on and off for a number of years. The care and support of the hospital was outstanding throughout this extremely difficult time. 

  • Every 4 hours someone in the UK suffers a spinal cord injury.
  • A spinal cord injury can happen to anyone, at any time.
  • Currently, 50,000 people in the UK alone are paralysed due to spinal cord injury.
