Story
In April 2020 our beloved Benjamin (Benji as he was known to his close family and friends) sadly chose to take his own life to end the pain and sadness he so often felt. Our darling Son, Brother, Uncle - a kind, caring, sweet young man of only 20 years old. He was handsome, bright, funny and intuitive and will be missed by so many.
Benji, we miss you so much. We just want to hear you run down the stairs again and walk into the room making us smile with one of your quirky or droll comments - we keep expecting you to and then we realise the sad reality that it's not going to happen, that you're not just sat up in you bedroom, you're not here anymore. What we would give to see you, to hear you, to talk to you, to hug you, to tell you we love you, even just one last time. We each have our memories that we will all treasure for the rest of our lives and there won't be a day that goes by without us thinking about you and wishing you were still here. You were the best Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend that we could have ever asked for and we hope that you knew how much we all cared and loved you. It breaks our hearts that we weren't able to help you, that we couldn't fix your pain. And although we knew that you battled many issues inside your head, that we tried to help you with, we can never begin to understand the true pain that you were really suffering from the worries you had. We'll never really know and we'll all spend the rest of our lives questioning why you chose to leave us or wondering what we might have been able to do differently to help or to stop that from happening. But the only comfort each of us will learn to take is that you're no longer suffering that pain that had such a negative effect on your life. Our sweet baby boy, our sweet baby brother, we hope you're at Peace now - sleep tight. Always in our thoughts, we will love and miss you forever.
We chose to raise funds in Benji's memory for St George's Crypt (a homeless charity offering accommodation, training and mentoring to transform lives) as it's a very worthy cause, in the city Benji went to college. Benji would never look at people who were homeless as being beneath him, he would never view or judge them any differently to anyone else. He'd never walk past anyone who was homeless without talking to them, something we are sure would have brightened their day.
Your donations, large or small, to support a very worth cause would be most welcome at this extremely difficult and sad time.
Benji's entire family would like to say thank you for any donations that are received xx
