We aim to improve the lives of those with breast cancer in Kent. We fund projects, equipment & research to support the work of the NHS Teams at the local Breast Care Units, Oncology Centre & University. We are a hub for fundraising & general information on breast health & treatments locally.

Story

In 2012, when I was 8 years old, my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer and it took over my life as a child. After months of treatment and a huge maturing experience for me, she beat it and joined Breast Cancer Kent to aid those women going through what she has by raising money for the equipment and support that the NHS can't afford. In 2020, she was diagnosed with cancer once again, and I went through it all again from a son's point of view, although this time with a greater understanding of the situation and with a more active role in helping to keep things moving forward at home.

I am lucky to say she has now beat cancer for the second time, and continues her hard work for the charity. Inspired by her selflessness, I have started delivering speeches to local schools to share my story and encourage support for the charity, with a focus on the point of view of a child of the patient. Benenden have generously asked to do a fundraiser in support of this charity which my mum is a big part of, and I am very grateful for the charitable support from the school and students. Donations of any amount are very much appreciated and I hope to see another successful fundraiser!
