Story

As Wells Cathedral reopens, a special appeal is now being made to raise urgently needed funds to support its continuing mission and care of its heritage. Now more than ever, support is needed to sustain the Cathedral and all that it does.

As a member of the Cathedral Voluntary Choir, volunteer welcomer and guide, I would hope to raise funds to say thank you for all the welcomes I have experienced there, and in hopes of restoring cathedral community life as soon as is safely possible.

On a personal note, I would like to remember the friendship of Elsa van der Zee, and hence dedicate this in part to her memory.

About the charity

Described as the "most poetic of English Cathedrals", for centuries Wells has inspired worship, music, learning and curiosity - at the heart of its community, a sacred space and common ground, enriching lives now and in the future. Wells Cathedral is grateful for public support - thank you.
