***UPDATE - Due to local Coronavirus restrictions in North Tyneside, we have had to delay the challenge until we can do it safely and as a team. That being said, we promised you a walk on the 26th September, and we’re going to deliver. Ben Elliott has volunteered to complete the challenge solo, as scheduled, before joining the Alpha Collective on the postponed walk, which we will announce when the local restrictions lift. At some point before the end of 2020, the Alpha Collective joins together for a quest, the likes of which Newcastle has never seen before. Ten men will walk more than 30 miles around North Tyneside to raise funds for Live Well with Cancer, a local cancer charity that aims to empower anyone affected by cancer to improve their mental and physical health and overall wellbeing.

Formed in the wake of the pandemic of poor mental health, the Alpha Collective's core values are philosophy, community and wellbeing. Formed as a men's group with a special focus on health and wellbeing, we meet regularly in North Tyneside to discuss a variety of topics and issues and find ways to benefit our local community.

As our values align perfectly, we have chosen to raise funds for Live Well with Cancer by walking more than 30 miles in a single day. The walk will take us past some of the most beautiful spots in North Tyneside and help us raise much needed funds to help people affected by cancer in our local community.

Our fellowship features Ben Elliott, Jonny Ellis, Jonny Cusack, Clive Ellis, James Breen, Chris Geisler, Gary Fothergill, Joe Matthews, Terry Downie, Lewis Pilton and Scott Carruthers, while the rest of the Alpha Collective will all be with us in spirit. For many, this will be the furthest they have ever walked in one day. But, as with all great quests, it is only by going through the ordeal that we are able to claim the reward and complete this Hero’s Journey.

Any donations, large or small, are greatly appreciated by everyone involved. Every penny will be spent on helping people affected by cancer in North Tyneside and the surrounding areas to maintain and improve their health and wellbeing. Thank you!
