Story
The Baxter family are walking, swimming, cycling and kayaking 95 miles in a weekend as part of Why me?'s 95:95 Challenge this September.
We are travelling this distance to raise awareness for the 95% of victims of crime who are not told about their entitlement to Restorative Justice.
What is Restorative Justice?
Many victims of crime feel sidelined by the criminal justice process. Restorative Justice gives them the chance to ask questions about the incident, explain the impact that it had on them, and have a say in how the harm can be repaired. This restorative dialogue transforms lives by helping people affected by crime to recover, and helping people who commit crime to realise the impact of their actions and stop them reoffending.
We need your support! As a small charity, Why me? are grateful for any donations you can make so they can continue to deliver Restorative Justice and transform lives.
How will my donations make a difference?
£10 could pay for a member of the team to call and reassure a vulnerable victim of crime.
£60 could support our ambassadors to speak out about their experience of Restorative Justice, helping others feel confident to explore its benefits.
£100 could pay for a meeting with a victim of crime to discuss their needs and how Why me? could help them.
