We need funds to enable Malawian colleagues to purchase and distribute anaesthetic and life-saving drugs to almost all hospitals in Malawi, where drug shortages have resulted in the total cessation of all life-saving surgery since early November.

The death rate of new mothers decreased by 70% in the first hospital where we delivered multi-disciplinary team-training on clinical management of maternity emergencies. We use small-group teaching in skills-stations and scenarios, to improve knowledge and team-work, and teach all maternity staff.
