Story
Barry Cryer, who died on January the 25th 2022, was a prolific British comedy writer and comedian in tv, stage, and radio from a particularly golden vintage. The huge outpouring of love and goodwill towards him in the days following his death cemented his reputation as a much loved and treasured personality. He had a gift for warmth and a genius for putting people at their ease. Oh yes, and he made many people laugh. A lot. Over many years.
However, he was, in his words, arrogant in his humility and always felt as if he'd been blessed with luck throughout his career. Therefore, we'd like to raise funds for a charity that helps performers less fortunate than Dad and dedicate this page to him.
“Never lose touch with silly” he always said, quoting his idol Humphrey Lyttelton - something we’ve all been very grateful for in the last few days. Please give generously.
