Story
Barney Boo has very sadly passed away :-( Our thoughts are with his wonderful foster family, who loved him so much during his last months. Oldies Club is very grateful to everyone who has donated towards Barney's vet bills. We will leave this page open in case anyone would like to make a further contribution, in his memory. Sleep tight, Barney Boo.

Update 23 January 2013: We have updated the fundraising total from £300 (which we reached, thanks to our lovely supporters) to £692.35, to take into account the continuation of Barney's medication.
Hi, I'm Barney Boo, a 17 year old Cocker Spaniel boy, well older gentleman really, who came into the care of Oldies Club this autumn, after my owner very sadly passed away.
None of my owner's family were able to offer me a new home. After spending a few weeks in kennels, Oldies Club, which rescues and rehomes older dogs, was able to offer me a place in a wonderful foster home.
After coming into Oldies Club care, blood work relating to my kidneys showed very high levels of toxins, which unfortunately is a very clear indication that my kidneys are not working properly. Along with a urine test and observing the amount of water I drink, the vet confirmed an inevitable diagnosis of advanced kidney failure.
I am on medication to help support my kidney function for as long as possible, but the prognosis is not favourable :( Oldies Club decided, with this very worrying news, to place me in the charity's sponsor scheme. This means that I remain with my lovely foster home for the rest of my life, while the charity covers my vet bills.
Although I am 17 years old and facing these health problems, my foster Mum says I think I am much younger. I enjoy a good walk and a sniff around the park. I'm still active and jump onto the sofa for a cuddle and my new family and I are determined that I will make the most of life, for as long as I can.
We would be very grateful if you could make a donation towards my vet bills. My vet costs so far are just under £300, but I am on regular medication and a special renal food.
Please note that should Oldies Club supporters be generous enough to donate more than is needed for my vet bill, any excess money will be directed to the charity’s general fund and used to help other older dogs in its care.
Thank you for supporting me,
Barney Boo x
