Story
Please help us to raise as much as we can for a wonderful charity that has been there for us since 2013. We have 2 beautiful girls who were both neonatal babies. Our 1st daughter Emma was born June 2013 and was in the neonatal unit for 8 days receiving the best care. Our 2nd daughter Millie, born premature at 3lb 8oz in January this year was unfortunately also a NICU baby for 43days. At 18 weeks pregnant we discovered Millie’s brain and heart were not developing as they should and she may not survive the pregnancy or birth. Millie has an extremely rare chromosome disability where she may not walk, talk, feed independently, live independently, attend a mainstream school, communicate or live a long full life as well as only having half a spine, hearing loss, breathing difficulties, severe developmental delay, seizures, a talipes foot and hip dysplasia. Millie has already battled breathing difficulties, sepsis, necrotizing enterocolitis twice and severe jaundice as well as other health complications that no baby should be facing.
We came across ‘Bliss’ back in 2013 after having Emma and they were a fantastic support network for families of neonatal babies and we have supported them ever since. Since having Millie we appreciate what they do as a charity even more and know they need as much funding and donations as they can get to keep going and supporting families like ours.
We have set ourselves a challenge of 43 charity events to represent the 43 days Millie spent in NICU and would deeply appreciate any help you can give, even a like or share on our social media pages will help the cause. We will be taking part in Mud Runs, baked bean baths, 43 hours of sign language only, 43 km bike rides and much more and will finish our event with a balloon release.
We know the pandemic has been tough on everyone, Bliss relies on donations to continue their vital work, and even a small donation can make a difference. Donations will go towards funds to give all neonatal babies the best chance at life, vital equipment, support families within the neonatal unit and beyond and life-changing research.
Please also follow our social media pages for updates on all 43 challenges!
