We offer support, information and advocacy to survivors of sexual violence

Story

Originally I signed up for this as a small protest against the toxic environment of rape culture, where sexual violence is normalised, trivialised and excused.  It was my way of waving two fingers at a culture that tries to exert control women's bodies, appearance and dress.

I chose to support Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre not just because of their outstanding and critical work supporting the survivors of sexual violence, but also for their role in the community educating young people about sexual violence and rape culture.

Now I also want to show ERCC workers some much needed love and solidarity.  Since their new CEO was appointed in May, the Centre has been subjected to a torrent of transphobic abuse on social media, as well as by email and phone.  Staff have been left distressed by some of the vile comments and accusations made.

Trans rights are human rights and ERCC doesn't deserve to be attacked because their CEO is a transwoman of colour.  Please help me show them that even though haters gonna hate, bullies never win.  Thank you.
