March
To help support Shelter, a charity fundraising event is being held on the Saturday 24 March 2012 at Radbroke Hall. The event is an 11 a side football match ‘North Vs South’ in a friendly battle for the ‘Shelter Cup’ (Family Day). The match starts at 14:00 and we are planning other activities on the day to assist in the fund raising:
Participants are encouraged to raise target of £50 via a Just Giving site.
May
On Tuesday 15 May, we are organising the UKRBB RTG charity golf day at De Vere Carden Park in Chester, where 50 golfers will compete in a 4 ball challenge (and individual Stableford challenge), again raising funds for our charities. The day consists of a driving range competition, buffet lunch, 18 Holes on the Nicklaus course, nearest the pin competition, longest drive competition, 3 course meal, prize giving and a charity auction.
June
We are planning to cycle from our office at Radbroke Hall to our Head Office at 1CP in London, via Westwood Park & Milton Keynes on Tandems (approx. 210 miles). The plan is to leave Radbroke on Thursday 21st June and arrive at 1CP on the morning of Monday 25th June. On the Friday (22nd) we will be completing a MADD type event at Westwood Park, volunteering our services to the Emmaus Homeless charity.
Tandemeers are Alison Winder, David Hales, Jane Watts, Lee Campbell, Rajan Sethi, Malcolm Hughes, Simon Atkinson, Liam Stent, Chris Wadsworth and Kevin Dickson. Support crew of Karen Racey, Alison Dixon, Claire Beeryman and John Skermer.
So please dig deep and donate now.
The Shelter charity help people to find and keep a home in a place where they can thrive, and tackle the root causes of bad housing by campaigning for new laws, policies, and solutions. The desperate lack of decent, affordable housing is robbing us of security, health, and a fair chance in life. Shelter believes everyone should have a home. More than one million people a year come to Shelter for advice and support via our website, helplines and national network of services.
