Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit Barbara's JustGiving page.

The Queen's Nursing Institute (QNI) is a charity which is believed to be the oldest professional nursing organisation in the UK. Founded in 1887, its original purpose was to organise the training of District Nurses - highly skilled individuals trained to give nursing care to people in their own homes.

Barbara qualified as a Queen's Nurse in 1965 and spent most of her career working as a District Nurse, caring for people in communities such as Poplar in the East End of London, and Brighton in East Sussex.

Further information on QNI's work to promote the best in community nursing can be found at: https://qni.org.uk/explore-qni/
