Story
This charity is very close to mine and my family's heart. The money raised will be donated to Mind in West Essex in memory of my late brother Ben.
Ben struggled with his mental health and tragically took his own life in June last year. As a family we are still coming to terms with our loss.
Ben's close friends have kindly organised a charity football match at The Saffron Walden Football Club on the 7th May 2023. Gates open at 12.30PM with kick off at 2PM. There will be donation buckets around the ground on the day collecting money for Mind in West Essex. After the game there will be drinks and a raffle which includes amazing prizes from local businesses. All proceeds will go to Mind in West Essex. All are welcome to attend.
A little bit about Mind in West Essex:
Their Vision is for West Essex to be a place where people talk openly and positively about mental health, and where everyone gets the support and respect needed to live well.
Their mission is to understand how they can best support people's mental health and well-being by, engaging, listening, and being open to all feedback. Mind provide activities, services, support and information that reflect people's needs. Mind in West Essex want to be immersed in the people, communities, and organisations of West Essex by playing their part in shaping a place that values everyone's contributions and eliminates stigma and discrimination.
It is Mind's mission to reduce mental distress and suicide.
We might not have been able to save my brother however we hope that the money raised will provide much needed support to other families and vulnerable people before it is too late.
I really appreciate you all taking the time to read this page in my brothers memory and thank you in advance for your donation ♡
