We are trying to raise much needed funds for Macmillan. To do this this a number of us have agreed to participate in a bike ride which we would like you to sponsor. Why are we doing this? As some of you may know two of the team's father, BJ, as most knew him, very sadly died on the 9th March of cancer. The NHS provides the best all round service and care it can for terminally ill patients but also accepts, and indeed seeks, help from charities. One charity (there are many others doing a great job as well) that helped BJ, is Macmillan, they have been supportive, providing respite care, advice and guidance, emotional and practical support and generally making a very difficult situation that little better.
We wanted to think about how we might be able to help and the best way that we felt that we can do this is to try to support Macmillan, so that others with cancer can continue to benefit from Macmillan's fantastic expertise. Of course, Macmillan isn't just about those dying with cancer, as they also help the many thousands that beat it.
As we wanted to undertake an event as soon as we could we thought biking might be best and we found that the only real cycling event (other than cycling up the Alps!) that might be both enjoyable and achievable, is to pedal from London to on the 20th June. So as many friends as we have been able to cajole into action, 25 of them so far, will be riding and all of us will use this page to ask you to try to help Macmillan. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please, please, please dig deep and donate now for a great cause and help Macmillan continue to help others with cancer.
