Story
Project Lesotho is being run for the first time by Brookfield Community School and involves twelve of our Year 12 students who will be visiting South Africa and Lesotho in July 2020. As part of their mission, they will be delivering Wonderbags (a method of cooking which dramatically reduces both wood and water usage and carbon dioxide emissions) to some of the poorest members of Lesotho's society, planting desperately needed soil-stabilising trees, and hopefully participating in construction of a reservoir and connected solar pumps.
All funds raised through this page will be used to pay for the Wonderbags and their distribution, for the planting of trees and to contribute to the reservoir. No proceeds will go to the costs of the trip itself – students are all fundraising separately to pay for plane tickets and other associated costs.
We are planning several big events to fundraise for the project, including non-uniform days, a Race Night and a Summer Fair!
