RAFFLE NOW CLOSED!
Josie was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in October 2020. Her cancer had spread and was found to be be 'triple negative' which limited her treatment options. As a result of this, chemotherapy and radiotherapy were the only treatment options.
When Josie began to lose her hair, 'Reclaiming the Curl' was born and Josie's husband (Nick) and her sons Jack and Harrison jumped into action convincing a group of people to shave their heads with Nick. A total of over £13,000 was raised for Breast Cancer UK.
Then along came the 'Bosom Buddies' made up of 12 amazingly supportive mums who decided to challenge themselves to walking / running 100 miles a month each! The support from this group has helped Josie to keep her strength up and helped the group to maintain their fitness. You may have seen the pink t-shirts and grey jumpers of the Bosom Buddies doing their miles around Derby! This team has raised over £3000 for the Breast Care Team at Derby Royal.
The 'Final Push' is where we ask for further support to raise funds for the Chemotherapy Ward at Derby Royal.
Chemo is tough. At times it has felt very lonely during lockdown and going through chemo. The nurses and staff in this unit are truly the most amazing team.
Please help us to say thankyou!
