Story
I started volunteering at the JCS Kosher Foodbank when I was only
4 years old. My mom would drop me off there to help my Auntie Bonnie. I stocked the shelves and helped shred papers in the office with Marie. By the time I was 5, I learned to use a box cutter and open up cartons of food that had been delivered. Within a few years, I was training other volunteers. I still work at the JCS Kosher Foodbank whenever I have a day off school.
For my mitzvah project I am asking for a donation to the foodbank. I have seen firsthand where the money goes and how much it helps people in our community. I am doing this mitzvah project in memory of two wonderful people in my life, my Saba John and GiGi, my great grandmother. I know they would both be so very proud of me for helping people.
A donation of $18 will pay for dinner for a family of 4 people. $50 will feed a Holocaust survivor for a week. $100 will buy apples for 300 families for a week.
