Story
Have you ever wondered where the money from our 'Money Song' collection goes once it leaves the stage?
Our pockets? Beer? Monstersorri School? WRONG!
True to the message of the show, giving to others makes you feel great! So.. when you give money to us during the show, it's entered into a larger donation that is the result of collections from our performances across the UK & Ireland and, at the end of our tour, the money will be donated to the 'Teenage Cancer Trust'.
So, why Teenage Cancer Trust? Well, the ethos of Sell A Door is to encourage younger audiences into the theatre, but what happens to those that can't? Those who spend their days fighting life threatening illnesses like cancer. Around seven young people aged between 13 and 24 are diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK. They need expert treatment and support from the moment they hear the word ‘cancer.’ Teenage Cancer Trust is the only charity dedicated to making this happen.
They bring young people together so they can be treated together, by teenage cancer experts, in the best place for them, so they are not alone.
Without the work of Teenage Cancer Trust, young people with cancer would be treated alongside children or elderly patients at the end of their lives. Being away from their normal life, friends and environment at such a vulnerable time is the last thing they need. So that's why we have chosen this charity - in the hope that the extraordinary work they do will reach those unable, in the hope that they will one day be able to lead a normal healthy life.
