Fred and Jack are rowing the 3,000 miles across the Atlantic from the port of La Gomera, Canary Islands to the English Harbour of Antigua.
They have chosen the Brain Research Trust to support due to many personal links we both have with Brain related conditions:
Over the summer of 2012, Jack's brother-in-law was hit by a van whilst competing in a local Triathlon. He sustained major head injuries and was in a coma for a while. Jack's brother is now under 24/7 care back at home and is making slow but steady progress down the road of recovery.
Both of them have had a relative who has died from a Brain Tumour, for Fred it was his Uncle and Jack his Grandmother. Again both have witnessed the horrors inflicted by Dementia or Alzheimer's.
The Brain Research Trust is the best charity at funding the best research into treatments for neurological conditions in the world at UCL (second only to Harvard!)
Both boys will be battling 40 foot waves, howling winds, salt rash, sunstroke, blisters and sharks and will need all the encouragement they can get so please show your support and donate to their chosen cause.
