Many thanks for taking your own time in reading our Just Giving page...
The RMRIDE350 is a charity event that is taking place on 2nd August 2014. It is a 350 mile endurance road cycle event starting and finishing at the RM Corps Museum Portsmouth with cyclists hoping to complete the ride within 24 hours (+/-).
The year 2014 represents 350 years of ‘The Royal Marines’. During this time, one of the UK’s elite forces have been involved in numerous military operations around the globe. The Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund was set up in support of members and families of Royal Marines with an aim to raise £6 million by 2014. The funding and ultimate support will focus on the following:
- Recovery Pathway – Helping wounded and injured Royal Marines;
- Decompression/Quality of Life Pathway – Helping those still serving and facing successive tours in high threat environments – providing adventure training for those returning from operations, funding homecoming events, financing memorials, maintaining our heritage etc.;
- Through Life Pathway -Continuing the same level of support and care once the beneficiaries break their formal links to the Corps.
Sadly, but importantly, the RMCTF also provides a grant to the next of kin of those who die in service within 48 hours of the event.
The ride is expecting to be an excellent event and the organisers welcome Royal Marines and other friends and families to ride and support the fantastic charity.
Glyn & Ash would like to thank you for your support and kind donations towards the charitable trust which is very close to ours and many other's hearts....
