I am taking on this 60 mile challenge to virtually climb Mount Kilimanjaro, to raise money for Suubi Africa UK. Suubi Africa UK is a small family run charity based in Durham, set up to support Suubi Africa Village in Uganda. The people here live in one of the poorest parts of Uganda. Our village has two family homes housing 16 orphans, a primary school, a medical centre, a Saturday Club (feeding 200 local children every week) and community facilities. Everything has been closed for over two years due to the pandemic but our school has just reopened in February 2022. Our team in Uganda have been going out into the community every week to give out food, basic supplies and medicine to the families. The majority of our fundraising had to be cancelled again last year so we continuing to find new ways of raising money to continue to help these children and families who rely on us.
