Story
Hello and welcome to our thanks giving page 2015,
This year Ros, Karen, David, Gary and I are continuing the Thames Path walk. Over the last 3 years we have walked from Henley to Chertsey and this year we are going the other way, from Henley to just beyond Tilehurst.
Those of you who have supported us before know that the Maidenhead and District Stoke Club supports members who have suffered Stroke in some way or form. This group enables sufferers to come together to participate in recreational activities such as; gardening, yoga, kitting sessions, table games, music, lunch days and much more. Outside of the meeting days we help members via certain therapies such as acupuncture, massage and physio.
Our miracle case this year was when Ros (volunteer) took Angela to our recommended acupuncturist and she came back pain free! Thanks to the Berkshire Community foundation grant, local donations and from activities like the walk the Club is able to help pay for these beneficial therapies.
More are joining the club and as with any organisation there are costs to pay like venue, transport, care assistant to name a few. The people who run it are volunteers, who need funding to keep it going. This year the Club reached its 25th Service anniversary and we hope it to continue for many more. It is definitely a worthy cause and any pennies or pounds you can give would be greatly appreciated by the committee and the members of the club.
Many thanks
Antonietta, Ros, Karen, David and Gary (The Walkers)
