Story
I am supporting The Green Heart Project's Back to School fundraising campaign, and I am asking for your support also! The Green Heart Project is gearing up for its 10th year of Farm to School programs in Charleston. They need to raise $25,000 by September 9 to kick off its partnerships with 6 schools in Charleston County, reaching 1,200 students. The funds will be used to: (1) Prepare school gardens, including soil, mulch, plants, and seeds; (2) Purchase program supplies, including culinary kits for cooking lessons, and garden kits featuring hand trowels, gardening gloves, and magnifying glasses for garden lessons; and (3) Hire and train seasonal staff. Green Heart's dedicated Garden Educators lead students and volunteers in hands-on learning every week in partner schools. Together, we can guarantee hands-on, outdoor learning experiences around healthy food for 1,200 students in our city! Learn more about the Green Heart Project at http://www.greenheartsc.org
