Story

During 2017, my 6-year-old son suffered increasingly severe autoimmune attacks on his kidneys requiring urgent medical treatment at Great Ormond Street hospital.  Overwhelmed by his odds of chronic kidney disease and possible lifelong medication, I immersed myself in the latest science of the immune system, and sought help to apply what I learned until he was free from all his medications and symptoms.

In this talk I share a refreshingly new and empowering perspective on autoimmunity as well as leading edge research into the most likely causes to explain how it's possible to reverse inflammation by addressing imbalances within our bodies and minds.  I explain how the food we eat, the chemicals we’re exposed to, and the stress we're under contribute to autoimmunity, and I share the resources I used to help with diet and lifestyle changes.  By sharing our autoimmune story, I hope that one or more of the approaches I outline in this talk may inspire you to improve your health.

If you have an autoimmune condition, such as coeliac disease, type 1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn’s disease, multiple sclerosis, lupus, ulcerative colitis or psoriasis, I would love the opportunity to share with you why I believe it's possible to reverse autoimmunity.

My first Autoimmunity Talk was in October 2019 and below are some of the anonymous testimonials I received:

"I liked the interweaving of personal, lived experience, with scientific information and data.  It was pitched perfectly so that the uninformed (like me!) learned a huge amount without being swamped and befuddled."

" I feel very privileged to have met Annette through teaching her.  She has helped me too by opening my eyes to new research and looking at reversing autoimmunity.  Being a busy working person, I don't always have as much time as I would like to look after myself in new ways of thinking......Annette has done most of the breaking groundwork for me for which I am very thankful!  A very heartfelt and honest talk.  That's Annette."

"Excellent talk with some great ideas. I suffer with two autoimmune diseases and it really educated me on some key points. Also gave me inspiration to look into certain points further! Would definitely recommend attending."

"Personally, I think Annette’s talk was very informative. I enjoyed the content, the delivery and the detail. I would recommend anyone that was interested in generally helping your family improve their general well-being to read the books that Annette recommends.  My niece has Crohn’s disease so I have sent her a lot of Annette’s information. I hope she listens and it helps her."

"It was great, to listen to the detail and very interesting."

"I liked that you were fair when talking about the NHS."
