Story
My friend, Steph Gammons and myself are at it again. Having last year completed the gruelling London to Brighton 100k Walk we have decided to challenge ourselves further by doing two 100k (63 mile) walks within 6 weeks of each other . And this is despite both of us swearing never to do it again!
Firstly, we will undertake the London to Cambridge 100k Challenge on July 2/3 and we are aiming to try and beat last years’ time of 23 hours. Then on August Bank Holiday Weekend we will tackle the South Coastal Challenge – a tough 100k trek on rough, hilly terrain following the South Coast Path between Eastbourne and Arundel.
Our training walks are well under way and we’ve trudged through ankle deep mud, rain and gale-force winds and we are now both looking forward to the warmer weather walks that are on the way (hopefully?!)
This year we are walking to raise money for Help for Heroes: the dedicated work they do helping our amazing servicemen and women who have fought for us and our country is truly inspiring and we are honoured to have the chance to help with their fundraising. We were both over-whelmed with the support and generosity we received last year - we just hope that you can support us again in raising funds for this worthy cause. to see just what they do.
