Story
I am running my first half marathon on Sunday 24th October 2021 at the Liverpool Rock ’n’ Roll event. My running journey started in the summer of 2019 when I completed ‘Couch to 5k’ and I then went on to do ‘5k to 10k’. I have never run anywhere near the distance of a half marathon (training hasn’t quite gone to plan with there being numerous rescheduled dates due to COVID!), but I am determined to do it. If you would be able to sponsor me, it would be greatly appreciated. All money raised will go to fund youth related anti-social knife crime prevention work across the North West.
The #kNOwKnifeCrime team work hard to spread the important message about the horrific lasting effects of knife crime - especially on those loved ones left behind. The team of runners run in memory of Colin McGinty who was fatally stabbed in March 2001. Cash4Kids is the In Memory of Colin McGinty nominated charity and money raised for Cash4Kids will be directly used across community organisations that deal with preventing knife crime in young people, along with the purchase, installation and training needed for the KnifeSaver bleed control packs.
