Story

The fact is - I love running and the London Marathon is a very special event to be a part of.

Another fact is - I have been living with ulcerative colitis since 2006.

Crohn’s and colitis are diseases of the gut that affect every part of the body.  These chronic conditions are debilitating, widely misunderstood and there is no known cure.

After a number of years on various different medications, I am now in what is termed long term remission - I have had few or no symptoms for over 5 years.

It is a great privilege to secure a place in the London marathon - many of you will know how incredibly difficult it is to land a number for this iconic event.  I am extremely grateful to Crohn’s and Colitis UK for asking me to represent the charity at the 2019 London Marathon.  I am covering all my own costs including entry fee, travel and accommodation, Vaseline, Compeed and post race celebratory libations.

Please give what you can to help me help CCUK in their great work supporting the estimated 600,000 people living with crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis in the UK.

Do remember to tick the gift aid button if you are a UK taxpayer - this means the charity receives an extra 25p for every £1 you donate at no extra cost to you!

Thanks for reading.
