We raise vital funds to support children's hospice at home care.

Story

Megan (7years) has never had a big hair cut before and she was not willing to have her locks off until she found out she would be helping other children and that she could raise some money for children like her cousin, Lily!

Which leads us here! Mummy and Megan are going to have our hair cut to donate to The Little Princess Trust on the 20th of September! We are both aiming to get 20cm off, so it will be a big chunk for her! And lots of ginger chunks to send off to them! Hair boutique in Colne are generously cutting Megan’s donation of hair for Free! Amazing x

We thought while we were at it we could also raise some well deserved pennies for the Pepper Foundation. A foundation that my niece Lily, and her Mummy and Daddy rely on and appreciate so much.

The Pepper Foundation help to fund The Children’s Hospice at Home Nursing Team.

Without Pepper’s funding to the home nursing team Lily could lose out on vital time with people who really know her and her condition. This time also provides her Mum the comfort of a few hours where she knows Lily is in the hands of people who truly understand her needs, and as her 24 hour carer this is so important!

Lily has been lucky enough to see her “Pepper Nurse”, Jane, at home every week since she left hospital at 1 month old, when she was given just 6 months life expectancy by doctors. She is now 6 and still showing us all how it’s done after all the bumps that life has thrown at her!!

Every little penny counts no matter how small! Please donate, and thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Here is a little snippet of information from their website;

“The team of nurses offer specialist palliative nursing care to children and young people up to 19 years of age with a life-threatening or life-limiting illness in Herts and Bucks.  The nurses work with families to provide care and support for each child in their own home and the on-call service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year.

As well as nursing care for the children, the team offers practical advice for parents and emotional support for siblings and other family members. In giving children the choice to be cared for at home, amongst the people and things they love, the aim is to ensure their lives are as happy and comfortable as possible, however short that life may be.

The Children’s Hospice at Home Service is provided at no cost to patients or their families.  Pepper relies on the generosity of our local community to help raise funds for this vital nursing care.”
