Story
Hello and big thank you for visiting my Just Giving Page 💛
This year I will be giving up alcohol, staying totally sober for the whole year of 2020!!
I will be challenging myself and inviting friends to support me along the way in the hope that together we will smash my target of £1,500.
All donations raised will go to the amazing, lifesaving charity Women’s Aid ABCLN. Iv choosen this charity because it is a charity very close to my heart that in the past helped, supported and lifted me through a very difficult time in my life. Domestic abuse takes many different forms. It can be emotional, mental, physical, sexual, financial and or coercive - any act or a pattern of acts of threats, humiliation, intimidation, assaults or any other abuse that is used to harm, punish, or frighten. I know personally the effects it can have on your mental and physical health. Massively impacting confidence and self-belief, leading to isolation, anxiety, depression, flash backs, suicidal thoughts and addictions. Lasting long after safety is achieved.
PSNI statistics show the number of recorded domestic violence crimes reached a record high in Northern Ireland between 2018 and 2019. Showing around 5 people killed every year. With domestic violence crimes still remaining significantly unreported. Demonstrating just how life saving and important Women’s Aid ABCLN and the work they do really is. So the next year is about me removing alcohol a coping tool so many of us use. It's about the importance of self care, focus and giving back. All donations will go towards all the amazing work Women's Aid ABCLN are doing working to help and support more women and children escape, feel safe and avoid future abuse...
Thank you so much for reading my story and for showing kindness and support through any donation given 💛 xx
