My name is Aneya Chaggar and I am raising money for a Bosnian Children’s charity. I will be travelling with other students, where we will visit a local orphanage this July with connections to our school.

Bosnia is currently recovering from a devastating three year war, which created problems such as poverty and the loss of family members, as well as a lack of education. The war has left a heavy impact on the children, including their physical and mental health.

By going to Bosnia, I aim to utilise my social and communicating skills to help improve theirs, whilst providing them with care and attention. We will be assisting and encouraging the orphans with creative play and adventure activities such as water rafting and swimming as well as taking the time out to enjoy each other's company.

This is all through the organisation of 'Our Kids Foundation', a UK registered charity that designs, initiates and funds projects to improve the lives and prospects of children and young adults in Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

Taking part in charity work, especially with children, gives me a sense of satisfaction as I am able to see the true effect that I can have on someone's life.

I am doing this in memory of my Grandad, who passed away in January 2017. He loved to see what an impact helping others had, and I aspire to follow in his footsteps.
