A couple of years ago a good friend of mine, who was a keen runner himself, lost a battle with cancer.  Before passing, he asked me to complete a marathon 'for him', as he had not had the opportunity to do so himself.  I am a keen fell runner who represents Buckley runners and I have decided to take part in the Excalibur marathon as it is the closest race of its ilk to my home and I have in the past ran part of the route on a training run with my lost friend.  Coupled with this I have chosen to raise money for Clare House as it is a charity local to me and one in which I value very highly.
