Andy Devaynes is raising money for Steve Prescott Foundation
Story
This year I am taking on a couple of challenges to raise money for the Steve Prescott Foundation
For those not familiar with his story; he played fullback for Saints and Hull and aged 32 he was diagnosed with Pseudomyxoma Peritonei, a rare form of stomach cancer. Instead of bemoaning his condition he set about numerous physically and mentally exhausting challenges, raising money and awareness for research into this incurable disease.
The charity in turn supports The Christie, supporting research in this area and Try Assist which aims to support players whose lives are affected by serious injuries while playing the game of Rugby League. Steve was truly inspirational and I want to help his legacy live on in finding a cure for this incurable disease.
The challenges I will be taking on are;
Running the Manchester marathon on 10th April.
Cycle Lands End to John O'Groats on 20th May, covering 930 miles and climbing 52000 foot unsupported over 7 days.
