Story
The Millwall Community Trust goes above and beyond to support people in need across Lewisham, Southwark and the wider community. They provide hot meals to children, run support programmes for the hardest-to-help, and offer young people opportunities to participate in sport.
They are currently raising funds for a new bursary project, to offer financial support to people who would otherwise struggle to participate. This includes travel expenses so they can attend, clothing for young people, and access to educational opportunities.
One of the ways they are looking to raise these funds is to take part in the Race the Euros virtual event, where supporters from "13 London football clubs" (*cough* 12 London football clubs and Crystal Palace), race to see who can clock up 6,720 miles of physical activity first - the distance between all of the Euro 2021 host cities. No, fighting isn't one of the activities listed.
To support this cause, I'm looking to clock up at least 200km in activity per month until the target is reached (by comparison, my most active month in the last year was 160km), and would like to raise at least £200 in total - £1 for each monthly km. The event starts on March 1st.
Times are tough for everyone, and if you can't donate I fully understand - but anything you can contribute would be greatly appreciated by the trust, and push me to literally go the extra mile.
