Story
This month, following my Big Birthday on 13th January, I have decided to run 50 miles to raise money for Chailey Heritage. I thought that I could put to good use some of the time that I would normally have spent commuting. I had hoped to visit and help with a children's charity in Cambodia this Summer, followed by a short holiday exploring Cambodia and Vietnam, but of course those plans were scuppered.
I have run two London marathons in the past but the last was over ten years ago. I have barely run since and it certainly shows! As I only live a couple of miles from this Chailey Heritage and have known people that have and still are being cared for and nurtured there, I thought that it would be an excellent place to support. I do have a personal connection too as I occasionally accompany services for the school in their stunning Chapel. It is well worth taking a look:

Below is a link to their website. Please take a look at all the wonderful work they do for both children and adults:

I have run 28 miles so far so there are a still a few left to go before next Sunday! With my tax return complete, I am a bit more free to run!
Joy Dyson, who is community and events Fundraiser at Chailey Heritage, sent me this lovely message which I am delighted about:
We think it would be appropriate that any funds you raise are used for our Music Studio. Our current music space limits the size of group that can enjoy music at once to four. However large group activities are particularly valuable, both on a social and a therapeutic level, and the new space will have capacity for groups of ten or more people. Integral to the new space will be specialist resonance equipment and other technology such as eyegaze, sound beams, hanging instruments, and facilities for electronic and virtual music-making using light waves and other technological aids, enabling those physically unable to play an instrument to do so by using just their eyes or head.
Thanks for reading my JustGiving page and I hope that, even in these difficult times, you feel that you can help support Chailey Heritage, no more how small.
