Battle Cancer - Manchester 2018 · 4 August 2018 ·
As I’m sure most of you are aware my career as a Royal Marines commando was cut short due to me diagnosed with cancer after returning from afghanistan in 2008.
During 2009 I went through 6 months of chemotherapy followed by 3 weeks of radiotherapy. That was just the start though as after I was given the all clear I suffered badly from chronic fatigue and couldn’t do 5 minutes of exercise without having to sleep for 2 hours afterwards.
Over the following years I slowly learned to deal with it and eventually I overcame it and with the help of doing crossfit I would say I’m fitter now then I ever was as a marine.
On the 4th august me and my team which is comprised of 2 males and 2 females will compete in the Battle Cancer crossfit competition in Manchester which is designed to raise money for all cancer charities.
I have choose cancer research as it covers all areas and will benifit everyone potentially. We’ve all been affected by cancer is some way I’m sure so please help me raise a conservative target if £50 thanks.
