Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  On 6th September 2014 me and a group of friends are walking the Yorkshire 3 Peaks to raise money for various charities.  This is my story

On 10th December 2003 I watched my mum pass away whilst holding her hand.  She was 50 years old.  As she took her last breath she found the strength to bring her hands together.  My dad was holding her other hand.  I'll never forget that moment, as she was leaving us she was still thinking of the ones she loved and giving a sign to look after each other.  It was typical of mum and how she lived her life, always thinking of others.

Last December was 10 years since she died.  A short illness that happened so quickly it was difficult to come to terms with.  Mum went from being  a healthy, active, life and soul of the party person to passing away within 4 months.

In the years since her death mum has missed my wedding to a beautiful wife, the birth of her first grandchild, the news of a second one on the way!!  Things that so many take for granted.

Cancer is an illness that devastates families and unfortunately most us will have some experience of it.  Macmillan do a wonderful job supporting families living and dealing with cancer.  As a family we know what it is like and would like to do our bit to help support them by supporting Macmillan.  I hope you can spare a little to donate to this worthwhile cause.
