Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year we were devastated to lose our wonderful father, Paul Chesney, after his brutally short but extremely brave battle with spinal cancer.
Those who knew Dad will know how much he loved his time serving as a Police Dog Handler. He was always ready to entertain audiences with funny stories and wonderful memories of his time as a "Dog Man".
He told me towards the end of his life that right from an early age, all he'd ever wanted to be was "a policeman with a dog".
And from his hospital bed during his final days, he'd say how privileged he felt that he'd gotten to do that. I'm so proud of my Dad. We lost him far too early, but how many of us ever really get to look back as he did, and say we’ve lived our life’s ambition?
I wanted to do something to honour this period in Dad's life that meant so much to him.
Over the next two weeks, I’ll be walking the Coast-to-Coast Path across Cumbria and North Yorkshire, along with my own dog, Rosie, in memory of my wonderful Dad.
Please feel free to show your support... Any money that we raise will go to support the Thin Blue Paw Foundation.
This is a great charity working to provide financial support toward the veterinary costs, rehabilitation treatment, and end of life care for retired police dogs across the UK.
Starting from St Bees on the Cumbrian coast, it’s a 200-mile trek across the shoulders of England to Robin Hood’s Bay and the North Sea.
Just me, the dog, a backpack and a tent, and 14 days of walking.
Adventure begins 21st August...
