WILSAR Sponsored Stretcher Carry

Andrew Bassinder is raising money for Wiltshire Search and Rescue (WILSAR)
£525

Sponsored Stretcher Carry · 17 April 2021

When people volunteer to join our team we hope they are in it for the 'long haul' but they wouldn't have expected it to be like this!

Story

In October 2020 I qualified as a WILSAR Search Technician. The training took 10 months due to the COVID-19 restrictions with face to face training sessions. From October to December I attended 12 call-outs and so far this year I have attended 5. WILSAR is a non-profit making organisation who solely rely on their own fundraising, along with donations, grants and sponsorship from the public and companies. They receive  no government funding and are a charity.
