Story
I am taking part in the 35 mile Team Luke Trek this summer to raise money for the Team Luke Foundation. This is a challenging distance for anyone to cover, particularly those like me who may have gained a pound or two during lockdowns!
I couldn't think of a more worthy cause than raising money to fight childhood Cancer, keeping Lukes legacy alive and helping other families going through incredibly challenging times.
The Team Luke Foundation is a registered charity set up as a legacy to Luke Bell, an inspirational 8 year old Darlington boy who died from Neuroblastoma in December 2018, only 21 months after his original diagnosis. Its aim is to make more people aware of this childhood cancer, help parents access key services & information, provide practical support, & fund research to improve diagnosis & develop kinder treatment. It’s a daunting list but Luke’s parents, Mark & Becky Bell, are determined to do all they can to make a difference in Luke’s name.
As a close friend of Luke's father, Mark, since childhood, I am determined to complete this challenge to raise awareness and funds for this fantastic charity!
