Story
This year, in order to raise money for the Wellspring homeless charity, I have decided to have a change from my annual Manchester to Blackpool bike ride. Instead I have decided to travel the equivalent distance from Lands End to John O'Groats under my own steam ( 874 miles) by a mixture of walking/cycling and rowing. I shall to do this over a period of time but certainly intend to finish by Christmas. I realise that I can provide no evidence regarding finishing this challenge but trust that those of you who know me will have trust in me and feel able to contribute to the charity which I love.
As you will appreciate the Wellspring, like many charities, has been through a very difficult time during the pandemic and we do not know what the future has in store, especially for those people coming to the end of the furlough scheme. Only a few weeks ago a young single mother came to the door. She had lost her job through no fault of her own and was about to be made homeless. Fortunately the charity was able to help her.
All through the pandemic the Wellspring has continued to feed homeless and vulnerable people in addition to providing much needed support.
