10 years ago, God gained a perfect angel, my sister, Andrea. In the last few years of her life, she lived on the streets. She became institutionalised to this way of life and stopped communicating with us, her family. 

Before she got involved in drugs, she was the most beautiful, bright, intelligent person I had ever met. She was on her way to achieving a life-long career as an electrical engineer. She loved spending time with friends and was always looking out for everyone on nights out. 

When the drugs started to take over, she would disappear for days on end and I would see her sitting in the streets. We would beg for her to come home but she wouldn't. 

Every homeless person has a story, and most likely, a family that worries about them every day and doesn't know what to do about it anymore. 

Homelessness is more than just not having a home, these people feel like they have nothing to lose, and then adapt to having nothing. The Light Project aims to encourage these people to get help and see value in themselves again. They show them that there is a future, even if they will have to work at it a bit harder than the rest of us. 

People are on the streets for all sorts of reasons, but by donating to a cause like this, they can be provided with the services they need. Any donations made will be in memory of Andrea, a homeless lady that did everything she could to help other homeless people despite her own issues.
