Thank you, thank you, thank you to all who have donated so far! Feels like you are giving me energy for this momentous day to come. Thank you so much! Makes me really, really happy. Hugs!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving for the Dance-A-Thon page. It is very much appreciated.
Latest Update 31st March 2011:
It is now three days to go until I foxtrot my way around the De Grey Ballroom. So far, with the help of many lovely people, I have raised up to 97% of my final target. But I am still a few pounds short of £200...
Now with three days to go, I am calling all of you, who haven't sponsored me yet, to please do so. I thank everyone who has donated so far - every penny counts and I am grateful for anything you can give. Both I and the Theatre Royal thank you very much.
So, with three days to go, here is still time and I'd really, really like to hit this target. So pretty please sponsor me!
Latest update on the 29th March 2011:
Only five days to go and £6 away from hitting my final target. It would be amazing to hit the £200. If not, to exceed it! I am getting incredibly excited for this day. I've always wanted to do something good for a charity, so here's my chance. And what's better is that I get to DANCE for it!
Thank you to all those who've donated already - I love you all! All proceeds go towards the Access For All Fund at the Theatre and inspire me to NOT be a plotz on the Ballroom floor during those 4.5 hours!
Thanks for the bottom of my heart!
Update on the 16th March 2011:
Within three days of me setting this page up, I hit my initial target of £75 and it still continues to rise, because of such generosity I am receiving! I am grateful from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has kindly donated. Thank you all so much - every little helps!
With support and encouragement from the Theatre, I have decided to set a new target of £200, since I still have two and a half weeks left and the extra challenge is good for me and my desire to dance! I firmly believe I can hit this target too, as I did with the other one. The more I raise, the better. And it is all for a good purpose that will benefit many. Please, give what you can. I'll be extremely grateful. =]
Here are my reasons for doing this:
When I heard that the York Theatre Royal refurbished the Ballroom, I was delighted. I remember standing in that room once last year for an audition, knowing it would be an awesome place to dance.
Then upon hearing about the Dance-A-Thon, I jumped on the bandwagon. A reason to dance in a magnificent Ballroom and do it for for a good cause that will bring me some sort of challenge or achievement?! Oh, yes, please! Never before have I done fundraising, but since it was dance and not running, I was willing to give it a shot. The cause is Access For All Fund to make the theatre accessible for all. If I'm allowed to dance in here, then my word, everyone should!
Not sure if I had lost the plot or if it was just common dancer sense, but I decided to do three dances instead of just one! The ones I chose are Latin, Ballroom and Rock 'n' Roll. I have much experience in Ballroom, since I did it as a small child for many years and only just got back into it last year. Latin, I have fell in love with last year. Rock and Roll? Always wanted to try it, because I grew up loving music from that era. See now why I couldn't choose just one?!
The usual guidelines for each dance is £25, but since I am doing three, my aim is £75. The more, the better. Please give what you can. Any donations are very much appreciated, be it £3 or £30.
So, please, please, please sponsor me while I don the flippy skirt and my favourite Latin dance shoes to take the floor on the 3rd April 2011. This will make me a very happy Belle of the Ball indeed!
Thank you! =]
