Story
I’m about to spend 8 weeks walking with my Dad.
We’re walking the Camino Francés, a traditional catholic pilgrimage across Spain. We are both lapsed catholics, but will be approaching this walk as a journey of discovery, and coming to terms to the ups and downs of our lives so far.
We wanted to use the challenge as an opportunity to raise awareness of the vital local charitable services which plug the gap in mental health support in the under funded NHS. Without charities like the Anthony Seddon Fund, many people wouldn’t get support they need to manage their mental health.
My mum, who died in 2019 struggled most of her life with mental health issues. She had many diagnoses over the year, and spent many periods over the years hospitalised. The type of support provided by the Anthony Seddon Fund is literally a lifeline to help people navigate their own mental health struggles and desperately needed support for their families.
Anything you can give will make a huge difference to this small charity providing direct help to people in Tameside (which is where I grew up).
About the Anthony Seddon Fund.
We are a small mental health charity, passionate about helping local people who are living with mental illness and its effects. We aim to advance awareness and educate the general public, in particular children and young people, in all areas relating to mental health and well-being. We also wish to improve the quality of life of people affected by mental health issues, their families, friends and carers, in Tameside and surround areas by promoting and protecting their physical and mental health through practical support, education and advice.
