This September, Bookmark trekkers will tackle the UK's 3 toughest peaks to help as many children as possible build the futures they deserve. 

We'll be one of the first hikers of the day to take on Ben Nevis, before tackling Scafell Pike by night. Our final triumph will be Snowdon, aiming to complete the challenge within 24 hours.

It is a shocking statistic that even in a normal year, an average of eight children in a class leave primary school unable to read well. If a child can't read well they will struggle in school and beyond. 

The pandemic has made things much worse. During lockdown, 380,000 children were at home without a single book and children need additional reading support now, more than ever.

Bookmark is a charity helping children develop the reading skills they need to succeed in school and beyond, through a flexible volunteer-led programme.

As a lover of books and a girl who had the privilege to grow up reading and first ever job was a library assistant, I cannot imagine my life without books, they have definitely helped define who I am today. I want to give the joy and help of reading to as many people as I can.
