Fundraising for Magic Breakfast
Story
The number of households with children going hungry has doubled since lockdown began, as millions of people struggle to afford food.
New data from the Food Foundation has revealed that almost a fifth of households with children have been unable to access enough food over lockdown, with meals being skipped and children not getting enough to eat as already vulnerable families battle isolation and a loss of income.
Amber invests in and manages over 260 schools internationally, providing the facilities that support the education of over 190,000 students each year. We believe that a quality learning environment is critical in supporting a good education, but recognise it is only part of the process of learning.
To support vulnerable children in the education system, we have decided to support the Magic Breakfast. The Magic Breakfast aims to end hunger as a barrier to education in UK schools through the provision of healthy breakfasts. We are running several initiatives to raise money whilst we are all working remotely.
Lockdown has made it difficult for traditional fundraising activities. Therefore we have created the Amber EUROPEAN GRAND TOUR CHALLENGE. Amber teams will be virtually competing against one another to see who can reach each stage of our European office's first, through walking, running cycling and swimming where they live.
