Story
Sadly last year my brother in law Billy died in the Hospice. He was 54 and had been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour in 2021. The Hospice provided fantastic support to him, my sister and his family during what was a very difficult time. This is my way of giving back.
Billy was quite a character with a very dry sense of humour so me attempting to dance (along with the prospect of heels, make up and fake tan) would have made him laugh. The photo above was taken at Belladrum which was an annual favourite and which was preceded by Billydrum - an annual chance to catch up with friends.
To raise funds I am taking part in Strictly Inverness 2023: this large fundraising event which raises valuable funds for Highland Hospice and Inverness Ice Centre, both local charities close to the hearts of many. My commitment is extensive; everyone is required to fundraise to their best ability, secure a corporate sponsor, and attend 3 x hourly training sessions per week from Jan-May in order to be well prepared for their performances. I will be required to perform my two dances - musical theatre and paso doble, in front of a panel of judges and be scored accordingly and to an audience of 560! I would be very grateful if you would please consider supporting me in my challenge in any way possible.
Thank you
Amanda
