Story
Dear friends and colleagues,
As many of you may have heard, Turkey had two earthquakes on February 6th to the magnitude of 7.8 and 7.5 with continuing aftershocks. The scale of the disaster is catastrophic. The Government has declared a state of emergency while the death toll is in many thousands and continues to grow, scores are injured and tens of thousands are made homeless by these catastrophes.
It is winter in the southeast with snow and icy conditions with weather measuring as low as -6. Civil society in Turkey are trying their best to support everyone effected through rescue and relief efforts.
Many of you have reached to relay your kind sympathies and also asked how you can help.
One of the best ways you can help right now is by donating to local organizations working on the ground.
All the money raised will go to the Turkey Mozaik Foundation, a UK based charity which is very experienced in supporting civil society during catastrophe in Turkey.
They have previously provided monetary support to important and highly effective organizations on the ground in previous earthquakes and their bridging function will no doubt maximize our impact from outside of Turkey.
Please donate and share widely with your networks to support people affected.
Thank you!
