A walking relay to celebrate being 70! for World Peace Flame Foundation UK because we want to help educate young people about peace., 6 July 2021
We promote inner peace and world peace to improve the quality of peoples' lives

Story

The five of us usually meet up on a retreat twice a year at the Dru Centre in Snowdonia along with 50 others.  We are all trained yoga and meditation teachers so have been studying and developing our practice together for over two decades.

We are all passionate about promoting peace, so when we realised that the five of us would be 70 this year we decided to celebrate by raising money for Peace Education.  Each of us committed to walk 70km and then hand the peace flame on to the next birthday celebrant.

And I’m the last…
... you can catch up with my progress and the other 4 laps on our Facebook page:

The World Peace Flame was created 22 years ago, the Flame burns at permanent sites around the world as well as supporting various projects including the Peace Education Package.  We are asking you to sponsor our walk so that the package can be translated and printed in more languages. We also hope to see a supported online course developed.  You can find out more about the Peace Package at either the UK or NL websites  www.worldpeaceflame.co.uk www.peace-education-in-action.org

Young people are the future – which is why we have called our walk – Lighting the Future.

Thank you for reading this far! I set off on Thursday July 8th and expect to finish on my birthday, August 2nd. I'll post highlights and photos below as well as on my Facebook page and on the Lighting the Future Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/GillianRoselindeSueJolandaAlison

May all beings be at peace, and may all beings find the true peace within their own hearts.  Om Shanti!
